Boundaries

This CHOOSEDAY is all about boundaries. The Bear spoke of boundaries in their message at the weekend. But what are boundaries? The dictionary tells us that a boundary is “something that indicates bounds or limits; a limiting or bounding line”. So why would we impose boundaries when they imply a limitation? The answer is simple. We need to establish boundaries so that we can sustain healthy relationships, whether that be with a partner, a friend, a work colleague, family. Even our pets!!

The boundaries we create are not walls or fences or a suit of armour. They are more a reminder of what we are prepared to accept and what we are not. They set the parameters of our physical and emotional space, in turn providing protection for our own wellbeing. Without these boundaries, we may feel stressed out, overwhelmed or even taken advantage of and our wellbeing starts to decline.

So boundaries in this sense are not limiting at all. In fact, quite the opposite!! Once our boundaries are established, we prioritise our own needs and we can watch how life starts to flow with ease to limitless possibilities 🐉💚
