When we look up the definition of competition, it refers to the activity or condition of striving to win something by overcoming others. Unfortunately, competition is often rooted in ego, driven by a desire for social dominance, validation, and proving one's worth in relation to others. Right now, it feels like there is a surge of competition everywhere. Social media posts, headlines, and let's not forget the wider world and its so-called leaders!

However, the truth is, we cannot really compete with each other because each of us operates differently. While our experiences may be similar, it is how we apply that experience, that makes us uniquely special. What works for one person may not work for another. What one person desires, another will not. It isn’t about who excels more than whom; instead, it’s about being a beacon of light and love, spreading positivity as far as we can, because let’s face it, our wonderful world needs this now more than ever!

As I reflect on the past year, it has been a time of shedding layers, breaking patterns, and reconnecting with our true Selves. It has also revealed hidden truths; masks have fallen, and true colours have emerged, and continue to do so, especially as the year of the Wood Snake comes to an end. So, let’s remain true to ourselves, compete only with ourselves and focus on the light we wish to share. Ultimately, it’s not about us; it’s about those who need us!
