Forgiveness

The last couple of weeks have been very thought provoking indeed for me. There have been challenges, hurts, celebrations and wins. A complete whirlwind of emotions! However, when reflecting on all of it, I have decided to make this CHOOSEDAY all about forgiveness. It’s a funny old thing forgiveness, and very often so hard to do. It usually involves releasing feelings of resentment or anger towards someone who has done us wrong. This isn’t just an acceptance of the situation, more so a transformation of those feelings and attitudes so that we are not consumed by the person or situation where we have been wronged. Although for some it might seem difficult to forgive, in the end, if we can’t, the only person who we hurt is ourself. When we do forgive, it doesn’t mean that the relationship has to go back to being the same. It can alter, it can improve or even cease to exist. However, when we forgive, we break free from the pain, anger and resentment, and start to gain some semblance of peace. And once we find that all important peace within ourselves, we create a more sustainable path to living a fulfilled and happy life. Forgiveness is absolutely the best gift that we can give ourselves. So go ahead… forgive that person. Forgive the situation. But most importantly, forgive yourself. It is the very best form of love 🔥🐉💚
