Loyalty

This CHOOSEDAY I wanted to expand a bit on the message in Spirit Animal Perception… The dog said that we should be loyal, but not to lose sight of ourselves in the process. I found this to be an interesting but important message. Loyalty is an admirable trait, and one that is important in relationships. We would all like to think that our friends and partners are loyal. That they will be there for us through thick and thin and always have our back as we do in return for them. Being loyal to someone or something means trusting, sometimes blindly, that they or it has your best interest in their actions and plans. However, we do have to accept there are some instances when loyalty can be a negative thing, but how do we know?
Is it actually possible to be loyal to a fault and have boundaries at the same time?
When we are loyal to a person, to a company, or to a group for example, we can lose sight of the bigger picture. We get so connected and entrenched to this relationship and our part within it, that we can’t see the cracks. We become so committed that we do, in fact, lose sight of ourselves because all we can see is the alleged value of the relationship.
We need to keep an eye on our ourselves and be honest with how our behaviour is not only affecting ourselves but also the people around us. Keep to our morals and beliefs. Be kind in spite of what others might say to us. Although it is important to be loyal in our relationships, remember that the most significant relationship is the one that we have with ourself!🐉💚
