Nourish yourself!

This CHOOSEDAY is all about nourishment! Although we are deep in the heart of midwinter, nestled within Mother Earth, it's essential to take care of ourselves. As I mentioned in our blog a couple weeks ago, many people rush into January, which contrasts with what nature encourages us to do at this time. Our Great Mother wants to envelop us, keeping us warm in her embrace as she nourishes and prepares us for the arrival of spring.

But how can we achieve this, you may wonder? Here are my top 10 tips!

  1. Prioritise sleep as a crucial aspect of your health routine to support healing and repair.

  2. Practice mindfulness through journaling, meditation, or perhaps a soothing bath with Epsom or magnesium salts.

  3. Spend time outdoors for just 10-15 minutes to absorb natural light, which is vital for mood regulation and enhancing vitamin D levels.

  4. Move your body gently! Focus on consistency rather than intensity. Activities like walking, yoga, or dancing for 20-30 minutes can elevate your mood and improve circulation.

  5. Stay hydrated despite the cold. Enjoy warm herbal teas, broths, or hot lemon water for added comfort and hydration.

  6. Create cozy rituals to warm your environment. Candles and soft textures promote a slower, more reflective pace of life.

  7. Combat the winter blues by scheduling time to connect with friends and family, whether through a virtual chat or a brief walk. There's no need to feel isolated during this hibernation period!

  8. Protect your energy by limiting screen time and setting boundaries with technology—and even people! This will help reduce stress.

  9. Incorporate warming spices such as ginger, garlic, turmeric, and black pepper. These spices are believed to aid digestion and bring warmth to your meals.

  10. Speak kindly to yourself! We often criticise ourselves with negative thoughts, but remember: you are a special, unique human, and there’s no need for self-criticism!

As the snake catches its tail on the way out, ensure that you are preserving and protecting your energy, rather than depleting it, as there is still a bit of winter left to embrace. 🔥🐉💚

Selfish or Selfless?

This CHOOSEDAY is inspired by a post I saw of an interview of my friend Lisa Clifford about her book launch (more on that soon!). The question was, does introspection make you selfish? Of course this
