Remembrance

As today is Armistice Day, this CHOOSEDAY is all about remembrance. 107 years ago today, at 11am, the fighting of the First World War ended. This was supposed to be the war the ended all wars, but as we know, this is not the case, and today there are still active conflicts worldwide.

Remembrance is a general term for the act of remembering, reflecting on, and honoring the memory of people or events, which can take many forms beyond formal ceremonies.  Last Sunday, and today, we honour the fallen. Not just those who fought for our freedoms in WWI, but those who have fallen in all conflicts. The men, women, children and animals that served to protect their nation’s future.

It is however, so important that we have remembrance for all. Not just for those who fought, but those who fell as innocent bystanders. Those who have been persecuted. The families. Our ancestors. For without it, we cannot learn the lessons so sorely needed in today’s society. Of course, there will be those who do not wish to learn the lessons, but hopefully those are in a minority amongst us. Choose to spread love not hate as we give in our act of remembering. Choose to forgive, even if it’s just for yourself. Choose to be kind, as we never know the whole story. And chose to gratitude. Choose to give thanks to all who have walked before, so that we may walk still. 🔥🐉💚
