Revolution

Yesterday was Bastille Day in France. Their national holiday. It is a day to commemorate the storming of the Bastille prison on the 14th of July 1789 which was one of the main revolutionary days in Paris. So, this CHOOSEDAY is about revolution, but perhaps not in the way you might think! The Oxford dictionary gives the definition of “a forcible overthrow a government or social order in favour of a new system”. A simpler definition from the Kids Britannica states that “revolution occurs when large masses of people decide to take power from a government that treats its people unfairly”. Some common synonyms include insurrection, mutiny, rebellion, revolt and uprising.

It seems to me however, the rebellion, the uprising, the mutiny , whatever you want to call it, must be done in peace and light, and not with the violence of the storming of the Bastille! If we want to instigate rebellion, it has to first come from within. How can we expect others to follow if we are not the ones that set the example? We need to be the ones that walk our talk. We need to be the ones that show others how to follow their truth. We need to be the beacons, so that others can follow the light. When more people are aware of their truth and know what it is to live their truth, revolution will naturally occur because there is no other option for the world.
