There seems to be a rising, deep fascination with The Fae Folk a the moment, so this CHOOSEDAY I would like to share a little bit about them!
Almost every area of the world has groups of Fae Folk who are indigenous to their region. The Fae Folk come in all different sizes, shapes, and forms; Pixies, elves, brownies, leprechauns, sprites, goblins, sylphs, nymphs and elementals (to name a few). They all look very different from each other and behave very differently too!
Most Fae Folk live in the Otherworld. Not much is known about it, however legend says that it is rather close to our world. It’s almost as though we live side by side with The Fae. We are in a slightly different dimension, but we are still close enough to interact.
Respect is super important when it comes to interacting with The Fae. They can be very unkind towards humans without it! They can also be full of trickery and mischief if we don’t treat them, at least, as equals. If we want to connect with them on a deeper and regular level, we should really wait for The Fae to approach us. It is also a really a good idea not to project our human wishes and expectations on The Fae, as they seem not to care for them! They also do not like lies, broken promises and disloyalty.
It is also important to show respect when entering a place where they reside. This could be a woodland, a river bank, a ghyll, a wildflower meadow, even your back garden!
In contrast with spirit guides or power animals, who we sometimes ask for help or ask for favors or guidance, The Fae are neither there to support us nor to ask for help from us. They are simply part of their own world.
So next time you feel you might want to interact with The Fae, or come across a beautiful “Fairy Glen” or any place in nature where you feel The Fae might be watching you, make sure you ask permission. After all, you wouldn’t just barge into a stranger’s home without knocking!! 🐉💚
