The power of the drum

It’s no secret that I love a good drum!

Last weekend I did something that I have wanted to do for years… I went up to Scotland on retreat to birth my own drum. I was so pleased that I did it this way as we were able to truly immerse ourselves in the process and take our time rather than rushing through in a day. I’m not going to lie, it was a very profound experience but it was also beautiful. Lots of connection and journeying to the different parts of the drum and then a closing ceremony when we had finished the whole process. During the last journey I was able to play my drum, albeit very gently, and hear his voice for the first time. Whilst journaling after the journey, I realised that the beat of the drum is so much more than I had ever imagined. The heartbeat of our Great Mother. A vibration that connects us to each other and to every living thing. The heartbeat of community. A heartbeat for healing, not only ourselves but a vibration sends out healing to the world. A connection to the truth of the Great Spirit (whatever that is for you), reminding us that we are all connected. That we all share one Love. That together, we can create Love for all. 🐉💚
